Magnus Carlsen Shoves Camera After Shock Loss in Doha
In a dramatic moment at the 2025 FIDE World Rapid Championship in Doha, Qatar, a heated Magnus Carlsen, after suffering his first defeat, shoved a camera away!
Magnus Carlsen suffered his first defeat of the event in Round 7, falling to Russia’s Vladislav Artemiev, an unbeaten speed-chess specialist. Frustrated after the upset, Carlsen stormed out of the playing hall and shoved aside a journalist’s camera that followed him closely. The brief incident was captured on video and quickly spread online:
Despite the loss, Carlsen by no means is out of contention as there are 6 more rounds to go. For Artemiev though, it is a golden opportunity to get his maiden World Rapid Champion crown as he pulls away from the rest of the field with a full point margin.
