World champion contender D. Gukesh is – unlike reigning world champion Ding Liren – playing a lot. And he has done really well, but in the European Club Cup in Vrnjacka Banja in Serbia, the first cracks are beginning to show. Gukesh lost to Dmitry Andreikin in the 4th round. Unfortunately another indian star, Praggnanandhaa, also lost and the favourites from Superchess are de facto out of the race for first place. In the final round the also lost and didn’t get a medal.
