Niemann Vs Dubov: A Fiery Rematch
Only days after announcing the results of his due lie detector/polygraph test from his 1v1 match with Daniil Dubov, GM Hans Niemann has successfully put on a rematch against the Russian in an attempt to redeem himself on the 64 squares.
After losing the previous 18-game blitz match the two played at the Levitov Chess facility by the narrowest of margins, Niemann has looked desperate to take on Dubov, having proposed the idea on X as soon as he cleared the polygraph test. As a condition of their previous match, Hans was obligated to answer one question by Dubov about whether he had cheated in over-the-board chess, which the American denied and came out clean.
The rematch is set to take place at the Raketa Creative Studio in Moscow, from May 27 to 28. Although the details of the match are not out, it is expected to be another 18-game 3m+2s Blitz chess affair.
Not just this, but Niemann has another rematch in store for the fans. “I have 2 big matches planned very soon. Both are rematches. Guess the opponents!” said the post by Hans on X. Hans has previously played 1v1 matches against players like Anish Giri and Vidit Gujrathi.
Will the American redeem himself against Daniil Dubov in Moscow? Who do you think is going to be Hans’ opponent for the second rematch? Stay tuned to find all the answers!
