Faustino Oro Starring in Leyendas Y Prodigios 2025
Posted on September 22, 2025 BY Michael Ludwig
11-year-old Argentinian IM Faustino Oro is one of the participants of Leyendas Y Prodigios 2025 (Legends and Prodigies), featuring primarily players of Spanish language countries competing in Madrid, Spain. The event includes, as the name indicates, some of the top young players in the world and offers them competition against each other and several of their role models.
Oro raced off to a spectacular start, scoring 4/4 against two GMs and two strong IMs, finally being slowed with a draw against 14-year-old IM Ilan Schnaider, also from Argentina. That performance has been worth 20 rating points, putting Oro at a live mark around 2484.
The event continues through September 25th, and you can follow along on Lichess.
