Another Uzbek Prodigy on the Rise
Nodirbek Abdusattorov is no stranger to chess fans, having made huge leaps since becoming the World Rapid Champion in Warsaw, four years ago – but so isn’t Uzbekistan’s #2, Javokhir Sindarov!
The 19-year-old Javokhir Sindarov is one of the fierce rising stars of this generation who is ready to take off the rankings, as he crosses the 2700, yet again. Yes, Sindarov has done it before and he did it with an exceptional run back in the final quarter of 2023 when he looked formidable as ever. Sindarov had an outstanding run from November to December of 2023 when he farmed 43 elo across two months – from Asian Games, Qatar Masters, and FIDE Grand Swiss – going from 2658 to 2701! With a lack of invitations, Sindarov decided to sit at his rating for 3 months before he became prey to a slump in 2024, bleeding rating points in successive tournaments following the giant progress he had made the previous year. However, the Uzbek prodigy stayed resilient and found his form back towards the end of the year.

The year 2025 has started with sweet victories for the Uzbek prodigy as he managed to beat two strong 2600+ GMs to maintain his 100% score at the Bundesliga this season and cross 2700 elo mark on the live rating list.

Sindarov expressed his elation on crossing 2700 via following post on X:

Sindarov is known for his ambitious and exciting playing style. The 19-year-old excels at complex e4 Italians and King’s Indian Defense with the black pieces. Sindarov made headlines when he beat the Mighty Alireza Firouzja in a match at FIDE World Cup 2021 while he was just 15. He continued with the tradition of upsetting French Super GMs at the competition, beating Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in 2023. Not to forget the historic Gold Medal for the young Uzbek team, which Sindarov was a part of. We believe this is just the beginning of a new chapter for the promising Uzbek chess wonder boy!
